Thank you to Australian Submarine Corporation for helping our students to test and prototype this years robot. They all got so much out of this experience.Mentoring Australia’s future engineers through the love of robots. When ASC engineers take time off from working on Australia’s regionally superior submarine fleet, some of them ‘hop’ on over to the Team RoboRoos - South Australia’s Student Robotics Club. The RoboRoos has members from 35 schools across Adelaide, and exists to excite young minds about STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), through a common interest – robots! Each year students compete in the international FIRST Robotics Competition, and some of ASC’s sharpest minds volunteer to assist the students during the ‘Feasibility Gate’ stage, where they present their concept designs and prototypes.Over six weeks, participants must design and build a functioning robot that can perform prescribed tasks, in competition with teams from around the world.Given ASC submarine experts are renowned for their problem solving skills (after all, finding engineering solutions is part of their daily working life) they are a natural fit to support and encourage these budding engineers. Thanks Chris, Nick and James, and good luck team! ... See MoreSee Less
